3-blade versus 2
Joe, I talked to Eddie Breedon at Hunter Customer service(an awesome source guy, and very helpful)some time ago on this very subject. He said that a 3 blade will create too much turbulence against one side of the rudder causing alot of force against the wheel. Unless your intended use of your boat includes fighting extremely strong tides, currents, or wind; you will get much better results with a 2 blade Max-Prop. The blades of a Max-Prop flip over when the transmission is shifted, resulting in a reverse as strong as forward. You should expect to have optimal speed as the Max-Prop is adjustable to match your rpms, and feathers to almost nothing under sail (be sure to hit reverse when sailing to ensure that the blades feather properly). Good luck Ron S/V Best Revenge
