Does anyone have any pointers for sail trim with an in-mast furling system? Over about 12-15 kts, I find the mainsail roach starts flapping with such intensity that the whole sail flogs & the rig shakes. Playing with luff tension, kicker, outhaul & jib has no effect. I also got the impression that, with the luff track on the starboard side of the mast, that the broader mast section interferes with the airflow over the lee-side luff on a starboard tack. The boat seems to sail better to windward on port. I don't think the roach (& leach) are strong enough to withstand full tensioning via the outhaul without stretching. Thx. Trim the leach line!
There is a leach line on the leach of the mainsail which should stop the flutter. Or it could be you don't have enough mainsheet tension.

That's what battens are for, to hold the roach in place. Unfortunately, you can't have battens and in-mast furling. You may or may not have a leech line. Most sails don't. Trying vanging or sheeting the boom down to close the leech as much as you can.

try easing your halyard a little-too much halyard tension can cause a loose leach, hence the flogging-works better than tightening the leach line, which can cup the leach
