About a year ago my H33 2004 #208 developed a creaking or groaning noise in the aft bulkhead. It was only apparent when the boat was rolling and was eventually so bad that it was impossible to sleep in the rear cabin if there was the slightest roll. After much experimentation with a home made stethiscope typle device I determined that the noise was transferring itself from one side of the boat to the other via the small section of plywood below the rear engine inspection hatch. I decided that this section was so small that it could not be a structural member so took a saw to it and cut a half inch vertical slice out of it.
It worked and the stress was relieved.
To stop any vibration from the pieces left either side and to help support the inspection hatch I screwed a piece of aluminium angle along the bottom with some rubber from an old inner tube between it and the plwood.
It has been two months now and there appears to be no adverse effects
So if there are any other H33 owners out there having sleepless nights see the picture below.
