I have a Hunter 33. The jib lines come through outblocks which are attached to the toerail. I have two blocks on each side. When on different points of sail, the line has to be changed from outside to inside the stansion. This is a real pain. Has anyone used two lines per side?? Do you always leave them inside or outside??? Did you add on a track ????? I'm confused!! Otherwise the boat sails well and is easy to single-hand. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

tracks work

On my 1980 H33 I used tracks located about amidships on the deck to adjust the 135 genoa, with blocks on the toerail located aft of the tracks at about the boarding gates. Moving the jib cars was the easiest solution for me and worked well. /c s/v Twilight

Installed tracks this year.

After doing poorly in club racing, I finally installed tracks to give me improved windward sailing. I purchased 4-foot tracks and installed them aft of the rigging back to where the cabin ends. I now run the sheets on the inside of the lifelines, adjusting the blocks for wind conditions. When not racing, I might use the toe rail to secure the blocks as I did in the past, and always place the sheets to the outside of the lifelines. Yes, it can be a bother moving the jib sheets out or in, but the boat trims perfectly now. By the way, we are using a 150 roller furled genny from North Sails. A beautiful sail! For cruising leave as is

We have found that we can point withing 45degrees of the wind with the jib on the outside and since we are cruisers we have not seen any need to move inboard.
