My boat is retrofitted with chainplates on the stern for the split backstay. Seems too work just fine but in the way so I may change later. Question - I am considering chainplates for the shrouds, which would give more walking room on the side decks and as I don't race it, pointing high is really not an issue (have to move to much anyway). Seems this would stop all associated leaking through the deck problems. Has anyone considered this and with what problems and concerns. Porter Claytor
