In refitting my 79 H33 I have recently installed a anchor roller installation and just posted some of the details to the photo forum in hopes that it may help some other H33 owner. I should note that the boat is still out of the water and so the anchor system hasn't been used in earnest but I don't foresee any particular problem and I look forward to some help for my poor back in raising anchor sitting comfortably on the aft edge of the anchor locker rather than hunched over the bow trying to make sure the flukes don't get the topsides yet again. One unfinished part of the installation is a anchor tensioning system. Any ideas?

To Jealous Ed

Envy completely unjustified, Ed. I may not be making a salary any more but I have a cruel taskmaster..er taskmistress. For 16 months I've been working on bay horse with her sitting serenely in a pasture, about as useful, as they say in Alabama, as tits on a boar hog. One deadline after another for splashing have come and gone and she still sits there. She's going in though in April, come hell or highwater, well, maybe just come hell since the nearest place for me to get her back in with a path to the sea is on the Tombigbee River which is prone to flood things out including the travellift in April. Seriously, working on this old boat has been one of the most fun things I've ever done and the more I'm around her, the more I think she deserves it all. She does owe me though, and I hope to sail her long enough and far enough to collect with interest.

Terry, My head is getting cold........

and the reason is.... my hat is off to you! Very nice job, very well written article. Also, you and I have gone thur the process of replacing the ports. I failed to take pics along the way, you did and you did so well. Congratulations on a nice job on the bow roller and on your replacement of the gray ports. Bay Horse must be looking proud.
