removehtml]Looking to replace the Danforth type anchor (18lbs) that came with the boat with either a Rocna 33lb or an Mason Supreme 35 lb. Does anyone have one of these. I have been told that it would not fit in the standard 2007 roller.Error: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

No Dragging in 3 years

I have had a Manson 35 lb plough type on my 2004 H33 since Dec 2004 and it has never failed to set or drag. The bottom round here is sand, mud or broken coral. It fits well on the standard bow roller. I am going on a six month cruise in June and am going to buy an alumium Fortress (mainly a weight and sorage decision) as a back up particularly for use where fore and aft mooring is advisable. I think the best featute of the Manson is that the boat can swing through quite an arc without dislodging and when the tide turns and the reset is 180 degrees, the variable angle of the stock encourages the side of the anchor to retain bite as it swings through the direction change. Other anchors have to completly dislodge and reset. Just my view and experience, for what its worth.

Anchor for H 33

I replaced the wimpy Hunter anchor with a 20 kg ( 44 lb) Bruce anchor. I have had no problems and the windlass handles it OK.

got lost in Montreal once

couple years back went to Mt. Ste. Anne skiing on March Break and ended up off the freeway, not surprisingly given the road layout ;) I've been in and through Montreal several times over the years. Did several weekend trips by train to do a Canadiens hockey weekend with the guys, really enjoyed the downtown area before and after the game. Toured the area during school while the Olympic stadium was under construction ( just a few years ago) and visited a cousin that was staying there while at University. I always enjoy touring any part of Canada to see what its like. I assume you're getting the anchor from Suncoast. Although they're in BC the shipping wasn't all that much, $25-30 ??

Scott B, I intend to pick it up in the US at West Marine in Burlington VT, as the boat is just accross the lake.
