My H310 has a stock 50 gal. holding tank, with the needle stuck on 3/4 full. The level sensor is original, a plastic sending unit about 1.75 dia. x 10" perforated with holes the entire length. Inside there seems to be some kind of float that is free, but there still is no change in the tank gauge indication. Is there anything I can try, like checking the resistance of the sending unit, to see if it is correct, or at least a manufacturers replacement part number. There aren't any part numbers on the unit Thanks for your help. Ken

If it is Wema than check the wema web site for testing and 50 gal is kind of big but see you can test it and replace it with a few replacements.

Not likely your 310 has a 50 gallon holding tank

The boat info tab on this site says you should have a 25 gallon fuel and 50 gallon fresh water tank. They do not have specs for the holding (toilet waste) tank. Hunter's site shows the new 33 has a 15 gallon holding tank. My 2002 H410, with two heads, has two tanks, one for each head, of about 23 gallons each. For reference to what we know about the 310 above, my 410 has 50 gallons of fuel and 150 of fresh water, and only 45 of waste tankage. Odds are your holding tank is only about 20 gallons.

Have you tried to remove the sending unit and clean it? Maybe you can soak it in hot water and some detergent to clean it first.

There are some other types of sending units on the market that may be more appropriate for a holding tank too.

PS: 50 gal. seems very large for your size of a boat. If you can figure out the cu. in. of the tank you can calculate the size by dividing the cu in by 232.

I soaked my sending unit this spring, in KO and it worked again. Filled up a big coffee can with Raritan KO(gagged), swished the unit around(dry heaved), and left it for a week. I plugged the hole in the tank with gorilla tape and took the tank home for a good cleaning. I soaked the tank in bleach, then rinsed. I used a gallon of pee be gone from the pet store after that. I think it is a 21 or 25 gal tank
