Hello- I'm in the process of replacing the head and hoses on my H31. After what I thought was careful measuring, I bought a Raritan Cricket head, recommended by Peggy Hall. I was disappointed to find that this head does not fit on the bump up platform that the head sits on. The platform is not deep enough to allow room for the workings on the back of this model head. Have any of you succeeded in installing this model on your H31? If so, how did you do it? Also have any of you found a different model head that is both good quality and a better fit? Thanks in advance, Laura Bertran 1985 H31, Rising Tide

Are you sure?

I encountered a similar situation on my H37C. Have you noticed that the outlet is adjustable for direction? You loosen two bolts and then you might be able to turn it to get the space that you need. The water inlet is a straight 1/2" tube and on my boat comes dangerously close to the slope of the hull. Your other option is to cut a piece of 3/4" oak to fit the space but have it stick out far enough to accomodate the two front bolts. But your are right, having all of the connections out the back makes it difficult to measure for. It's a good head if you can fit it in.

Already Redirected Outlet

Ed- Yes, I already adjusted the direction of the discharge outlet. It didn't really help much. It has been suggested that I bolt a larger base to the existing platform and mount the head to that. I think that's my best option and will try it. Thanks. Laura
