Hi,

I have a leaking cockpit drain fitting. Previous owner(s) have tried silicone around the fitting but that's not working anymore and isn't a good long term fix anyway.

Anyone got a good idea where to get one? Here's a picture on the inside.

thanks,
Ken

Ken,

Disassemble the entire thing first and inspect for breakage. That includes unscrewing that white nut and pulling the fitting up through the cockpit deck. I think it is just a regular thruhull fitting if it needs replacing. The gray piece is a standard female ell connector. If nothing is broken or stripped then clean out all the silcone and rebed the throughhull from the top with some butyl tape or Boat Life caulk. Wrap some teflon tape on the last few threads after snugging up the nut and reinstall the female ell.

Hope this helps.

I assume that the PO tried to apply silicone on the top of the fitting. I would also recommend that you remove the fittings, inspect and replace and/or rebed. Use a proper bedding material.

We replaced ours with a flush unit with a screen.

Pretty old and worn, so I replaced with a We$t Marine version. This one is more translucent so I get a little sunlight as a bonus in the aft cavern.

One project down, hundreds to go...
