H30t Boot Stripe

Any early 90's H30 owners know if the boot stripe is vinyl or painted? I need to remove mine to raise the waterline and would like to know what I'm getting into before I haul out.

It is painted or black dyed gel coat... Not a decal.
If you prep the old stripe properly with sanding, barrier coats and primer,
your bottom paint will cover the old black stripe nicely and permanently.

I had an H30G. I did the same. I took the bottom paint to the top of the boot stripe, and added a new boot stipe above. I also renamed the boat. My boot stripe was gel coat. The majority of the work was masking the new boot stripe so that it was straight and slightly tapered - Lasers were involved!
