It's the propane solenoid - Paul is correct. I've had my 306 (it's a 2003 model) since 2007. It's small OK - but there's lots of advice out there from sailors with small cruisers on how to trim your weight and keep things simple...I've just looked at it as a 'discipline' thing. Never a problem with leaking. Nothing to complain about on vibration. And I do a fair amount of motoring - sad to humbly admit that fact. (I'm up the Potomac about 80 miles and if I WANT to get out to the Chesapeake in two days, if the tides aren't JUST right and the wind JUST right, it can be a 4 day sail or under 2 days using the little 18HP Yanmar! The good news is that at about 5-6 kts I use just under 1/2 gal/hr. Ditto coming home. Motorsailing avoid more than a 15 degree list. Anyone who regularly sails on a curvy river with varied height shores, deep and shallow areas, that is tidal and has places with significant current will understand.) I most often sail solo, with my spouse when she can come, and occasionally with friends. Boat is fine and inexpensive to own an operate. OK for one or a couple. Might be OK for a kid or a couple of small kids also. I can do 1 to 2 nights with my wife and another couple fairly comfortably, but I'd not prefer longer. Just one man's humble opinion. Good luck, Bill.
