Hi all
We have a 1989 Hunter 33 and it's time to change the sanitation hoses.
If you have done that task, I'm interested in how you did it.

Our boat has no "Y" valve, but a "y" fitting. Everything is pretty tight. I attached a photo of the aft edge of the tank and of the toilet plumbing.

The configuration has a vented loop between the through hull and the macerator. There is another vented loop between the water output from the pump and the toilet intake.

I would like to add a Y on the sink drain as well, but can't see how to route the plumbing.

Hi all

Firstly, I would suggest contacting Barnum and Bailey to see if you can hire one of their "small people" for the job.

A somewhat more useful suggestion would be to use a hair drier set to "bloody hot" to soften the hose when going around bends.

The configuration has a vented loop between the through hull and the macerator.
I can't see any reason for the vented loop between the macerator and the thru hull as the holding tank and its vents are completely water tight and can't cause any problems other than the tank fills with sea water if you forget to close the thru hull. You can easily live without it. Also, with all that "crap" going past the vacuum breaker, there's always the chance of it leaking. Adds a whole new urgency to the term "ABANDON SHIP"

Actually, that's how we rinse our tank when at sea. After pumping out the holding tank, we allow the tank to half fill with sea water, close the thru hull and let the motion of the boat slosh the contents around. After a few hours, open the thru hull, discharge using the macerator, and remember to close the thru hull this time.

I also notice the system is presently plumbed with PVC hose. For the sake of your nose, I would suggest a good quality sanitation hose throughout.
