Just to start you off....
I presently own a 1989 30(G?) and love it. A few things to look out for might be as follows: 1) Chainplates debedding and leaking. 2) Leak at the thru-deck furling block, they didn't seal them at the factory and are an open invitation to water penetrating the core. 3) Skylights leaking. 4) Barient winches, if you got them make sure they are in acceptable working order, as they get older, parts are becoming harder to find. 5) Yanmar motor mounts, while not a big deal, mine were loose and stripped, and had to be resized and rebedded. 6) Seacocks, make sure they are acceptable working order, as they are not easily accessible. 7) The overboard manual discharge pump and associated head hoses. The list could go on, but theese are just a few areas where I have had to address. This said, it is a great boat for my home waters, and after owning her for the past three years she is in great shape. Good Luck, and let me know if there is anything else I can hopefully help you out on. This said, Greg Emerson at Hunter technical support is an outstanding resource, as well as a good guy.
