I have a 1994 H29.5. There is a small diameter line (maybe 1/8" or less) that runs up the starboard side of the mast and back down. It became pinched under the spreaders, separated, and is now fouling the halyards near the top of the mast. I plan to just remove it so it doesn't jam the halyards, but I don't know it's intended purpose. I don't see it in any of the rigging diagrams I have. Any ideas what it's for? Maybe to fly a pennant or burgee?

That could be. The boat is fairly new to me, and I haven't even though about flying the spinnaker yet.
