Bill, our 1989 H28 did not have a bushing...
The rudder post was inside a pipe. Our surveyor checked it out and said that the play was acceptable, but keep an eye on it. He said in order to reduce the play cut a small piece of teflon sheet to fit around the base of the rudder post. This will shim up any unacceptable play. Most marine houses carry teflon sheeting.Or by bushing do you mean spacer/washer? You could probably use the teflon sheeting for the same purpose.Terry
