What is the loos gauge tensioning for the uppers and lowers? How about the back stay, I don't have an ajustable. I have quite a bit of pre-bend in the mast. I don't see adjusting tension often for light or heavy air. Not currently racing it. Last year was my first with the 28.5 and someone on the dock said to try X. Thanks in advance Mike

Loos guage measures stay tension

"Tuning" the mast involves aligning it properly for your rig, and then setting the tension in each stay to the right value. Aligning addresses getting the mast straight between the two sides, and setting the desired rake to balance the helm. Once the mast is aligned, you use the guage, and tighten the stays down together to reach the specified tensions for each. I hired an instructor to tune the mast with us the first time, and he gave us setting between 400 and 600 pounds for the different stays. (I don't have our table of settings with me.) I don't know about bend - thats not a feature of our rig. But there is a good article about tuning a B&R rig in this site. David Lady Lillie
