My Hunter 27' 1982 Shallow Draft with Yamar 1GM was equiped (as purchased) with a Three Blade 12 x 10 prop. Both the Surveyor and I knew this wasn't standard, but I assumed the previous owner knew something we didn't.I decided to keep the prop on for this season believing that reverse performance would be better than a 2 blade. The prop in reverse walks so badly that I can't back the boat out of the slip under power. Forward performance is also lacking keeping the Yamar at 2500-rpm max. Forward speed tops out at 3.5 knots and fleeing Floyd's wrath with 20 to 30 knot head wind and 2 foot waves head on, speed was reduced to 1 or 1.5 knots. Not something I care to repeat. I am looking for recommendations on what type of prop to buy for next season.I know that a 2 blade 13x9 is standard. What type of prop are you using and what performance does this prop provide?
