I need to buy a new main sail ,I think our 1981 h27 is a tall rig but the mesurements don't match...
The sail loft here shows: E(foot) 9'33" , P(luff) 32'3"
my mesurements are E 9'4" P 31'10"
What do you think ? any suggestion...
Thanks and Happy New Year

Re: H27 mainsail

MerSea, If your sailmaker is in the Annapolis area they will come to the boat and measure. There are a lot of fine sail makers in the area and since there is a difference in your dimension and the sail makers it would be best if you had them do the measuring, that way they will be responsible for a proper fit Ray T

I think the E measurement would be fine but I would beware of the P measurement as you may not be able to tension the luff properly. Because of variances during construction you should work with the measurements for your own rig. The h27 Cherubini came with a single configuration denominated "tall rig" to describe the high aspect ratio of the sails. Because of the age of the boats some have been refitted and that may have created the illusion that there were different models. Notwhistanding having a similar size mast the placement of the gooseneck may influence the required legth for the luff. Measure twice buy once

Like Benny did,I might buy a newer/bigger boat (maybe next year) so I was looking for an used sail but can't find any with the same dimensions.
Ray is right ,we have a lot of sail makers in MD and a new one could be my only choice
