Hi all,

There have been a few threads about the Delrin "spacer" (the big giant washer) on the tiller post of the H27's...mainly where to get a replacement part.

Mine on my 82 literally fell apart; largely because the delrin they made these out of is NOT the UV stable compound they probably should've used.

I was going to get one machined from a block of Canvas/ Delrin UV stable laminate that I have, but somehow the pieces of my broken one have gotten misplaced.

Will someone be so kind as to give me the dimensions on these, if they have one? I need the thickness, the total OD, the ID diameter of the doughnut "hole", and the diameter and height from the bottom edge of the washer of the through hole for the bolt.
Since I had to buy a 12x12 sheet of the Delrin, I'd also be glad to get as many made as I can, and sell the others for my cost to help offset the machining and materials costs.

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Call SBO storre and see if they have a source for the part or maybe the specs.

PS: I don't know that I could complain about a part that has lasted for 30 years!

Thanks, Steve. Not complaining, just explaining...as folks have asked why they "fell apart". I've already talked to both the SBO store and Hunter; which led to my decision to have one ( or a few) made.
Just need the dimensions now....:)

I am sure mine needs to be replaced. I am not able to get to my boat for a week or two so I can't help with the dimensions though.. I would be interested in buying one if you have a few made. PM me when you get more info.

Can that be changed while the boat is in the water? I am guessing the collar on the steering gear will hold everything in place if you take off the upper collar to change it right?

Did you get dimensions yet? If not, my '81 H27 is setting in my yard and I would be glad to get the dimensions for you in a day or so. Also, I would be interested in purchasing one of the extras you have made if you haven't found places for them yet.
Thanks,
Colleen
