My H260 has a 20 gal. water tank in the bow. It's no problem to fill, but how do you drain it? The water has been in it for a year now and it really needs to be drained? I'm going to try to siphon the water when I next pull the boat out but not sure it will work. Advice from anyone with experience with this specific boat/problem will be appreciated.

Empty Tank

From what I remember about my tank I don't think there is a valve or anything to empty the tank. I believe there is an overflow hose, but not one to empty the tank. I had to pump the faucets until the tank was empty. This was a major pain and Hunter could of created a way to solve this problem with minimal cost. Using the faucets or siphoning should help empty the tank.

Disconnect the outlet hose from the tank

And let it drain into the bilge, which prob'ly needs cleaning anyway. After you've drained it, recomission the whole system before filling it again. You'll find directions for doing that in the archives...I've posted 'em many times.

Siphon

I drained my tank several times by sliding a small hose over the galley faucet and running the hose out the stern by the motor mount. If memory serves it was either 3/8" or 5/16" dia. hose about 20 feet long. A few pumps on the faucet and gravity takes care of the rest. This may not work if you have placed check valves into your lines.
