Java Wins, a H260 beats a full fleet of Hunters at the Back to the Bay III Hunter Rendezvous. Amazing Amazing!! On Saturday we had the Hunter Cup race, where the slowest or largest handicap boat goes first. Twenty-four boats raced, from a H260 up to a H460. Within six minutes of the start all boats were on the race course. "Java" had the lead and never gave it up. At the finish, "Yaga", Mickey McHugh was only 45 seconds behind me. What a feeling, my wife and I are still in shock. Race started at 12:00 Results BoatRatingTime ------------------------------------------ Java21912:59:35 Yaga11113:00:22 Rapsody14413:01:41 So take heart all you trailerables WE CAN DO IT... He's Dangerous Now

Now I know why there were no post about the Rendezvous. You guys have been sobering up. And now you've won the Hunter Cup... I knew it was a bad idea letting you off the H19. Congrats!!! Mark

How Could I have forgotten to include that???

A few minutes before the start of the race, Mrs. Java brings a portable boombox into the cockpit...ok, it's a nice day and just a fun race...why not have some "music to race by?" We found out their musical taste as Java crossed the start: "Victory at Sea!" I dunno if they played it continuously, but no one on the committee boat needed binoculars to know which boat was approaching the finish first, 'cuz Java crossed with "Victory at Sea" blaring full blast! I told him later it should have been the "1812 Overture" at the start...Frank's new cannon would have blended in perfectly!
