I am looking at a 2004 260. Can the dining table be lowered so it is flush with the seats and used as an extra berth ? if so, what cushions would fill in this area ? is the aft berth comfortable enough for two adults ?
Thanks, Bob

not on a 2000 H260

I have a 2000 H260 and the table will not go down low enough to make a berth out of the settees. As I understand it, some models of the H26 had a differerent table support that allowed for this option.

There are plenty of post showing how to modify the table if this is important to you. As you will find there is a real love/hate relationship with the table.

Tim thanks for the feed back, the spec sheet for the 2004 model says, "convertible dinette" so I'm not sure what that means. the cabin is full of stuff so hard to play with the table. The spec sheet also says "cockpit table support", but I don't see anything like that in the cockpit nor do I see a cockpit table on the boat ?

Re: thanks

My convertible dinette means it rotates and opens the area aft of the table. I beleive that the H26 had a cockpit table option but not he H260. When you get into the V Berth you will find a small oval storage area that is a mystery to H260 owners. As I understand this is where the cockpit table was stored for the H26...again not first hand information more from just asking around...so I could be wrong.

The answers to your questions are. 1. The table lifts about an inch to clear the pin in the pole and then is rotated 180 deg. and re-locked on the pin. The table edge then sits in a groove at the v-berth. The cushion directly under the table is then taken from the seat and placed on the table, it has velcro on it for that purpose. This accomodates our 6' 2" son just fine. 2. The aft berth is quite comfortable for the two of us. Always let your wife sleep on the outside. If you have to go to the head it can be a pain but that is the only downside.

John, thanks very much, I bought the boat but have not taken delivery yet waiting to get some paper work settled, should have it next week. I sailed a Mac 26S the last few years so am looking forward to more head room and a bigger cockpit. Our hope is to be able to do longer trips on this boat.
