H260 Stern Leak

I've found a leak in the stern area of my H260 and am 99.9% certain it's coming from the deck to hull seal. I've read the multitude of posts here from other H260 owners on the fix but am wondering if there are any updates anyone may want to add, such as; the best way to remove the rub strip(Note: Southern Ontario, getting cool up here), number of screws that should be there and/or screw spacing, the best sealant, and best way to reinstall the rub strip.

Approaching the leak from the outside of the rubrail may be possible on the H260, but it's not on the early H410. See my repair, with photos, at http://svctime.blogspot.com/p/port.html.
