I an considering adding an asymmetrical spinnaker to my H260. I noticed a spinnaker on the HunterOwners.com website (Dolyle Sails, about $1000 with dousing sock). Crazy Dave keeps mentioning the HOW store - Is that the Hunter Owners Website (hunterowners.com?)?? Who makes a good spinnaker at a good price? What additional factors should I consider? Are there performance differences among spinnakers? Who makes a higher performance spinnaker? Your input, as always, is appreciated. Brian

Glad you asked

Brian, I posted a similar question several months ago and lots of information is supplied in the responses. The titles included the words: asymetrical annoyance you can find in the "archives". I originally looked at a local sailmaker(North) to make mine, but it was much more expensive and I felt much more comfortable getting it from this website. I also looked into getting it directly from Doyle, but it wasn't cheaper, and it took them a couple of weeks to get back to me. It's worth the trouble, I really enjoying mine. My recent issue is how to cleat the sock, and I'm debating ordering the "Tacker". Scott S/V Hello Dolly

Hey Scott, What is the "Tacker"

Can you jibe your asymetrical using it? How does that work? Lots & lots of questions... Brian.

How store

Brian; Doyle is just a name with franchises all over to include North,etc.. When I refere to the HOW store, you are right about the Hunter Owners store. The $1000 quote is a good one as other lofts will charge you anywhere from $1,200-$1,500. They basically use the same raw materials and equipment. The A symmetrical spinnaker is nice and the folks at the HOW store will stand behind what they sail and by the way, Doyle is a good name. Crazy Dave Condon
