When the companionway hatch is raised, in what position should the two support rods be? Are the supports in the same position when using the camper enclosure? I'm trying to get my new camper top to fit.ThanksKevin
the support rods are in the aft postion, angled back, bottom of the rod toward the rear as far as they go.This is the position I use anytime I raise the camper top. John
They have to be angled back for the companionway cover to fit. There is a near-vertical face on the deck that they will butt up against. They should have plastic caps on them so they won't slip.
Where did you hear about/find a camper top for your 260? We take our 260 on over-night and weekend trips a lot and a camper top would be a great add-on!
Kevin, I snap the canvas camper top down and install the aluminum support over the companionway. Then I raise the hatch until the two support rods are vertical. The camper top is properly installed with a good tight fit.
raise the top, with the legs angled aft, THEN snap the camper top on. There's not enough material to allow the pop-top to go up/down with the top snapped down - window screens will rip out. Don't ask how I know this, but I know it for sure!
