Am new to h260 with mast down particular issues. I just had to quickly take mast down when jib tball connector (?) pulled away from swage wires and jib line was slack and scared me. What is the theory behind the h260 mast stowage design, is most of the weight of mast weight supposed to be 1) on bow pulpit railing and 2) rear mast crutch and 3) none on the mast mid braces? SEE PICS. Should we cushion w rubber the bow railing?? Some people raise the mast up half foot at bow with some wood chunks across bow pulpit, to lower mast at rear I guess. I imagine just having the mast lie on the deck (by spreaders touching) would be bad if big wavy storm comes thru docks and bounces mast. I am in Hurricane country so Im very happy to have options to put h260 mast down but the particular h260 issues are new to me. Thanks. - D

Hmmm, with H260 mast lowered, having bow pulpit PULL via straps the mast forward would put some weight on mast braces mid boat, get some of the 150 pounds onto it maybe 50. Hmm.
