I have a short traveler in the cockpit of my 270, just in front of the original padeye that the mainsheet was connected to. I would like a longer traveler. Has anyone put a high rise traveler across the cabin top on a H260 or 270 & if yes, what are the perceived advantages and disadvantages ??? Thankyou

Jim;

Several issues with what you want to do. First with a little more practice, you would not need a traveler. as for the top of the cabin roof, bolting is an issue. The headliner inside is a held into place by marine putty which is not really a part of the deck and installation would be difficult but can be done if you know what you are doing. Secondly, it will hinder you going in and out of the cabin and someone will get hurt hitting there heads which is a safety issue. Finally, it would be too far forward on the boom and create alot of tension which I do not recommend. Please sir, do not consider this path. I know the boat well and to beign with, I was involved with the desing process not to mention that I sold between 20 to 25% of the production line.
