Can anyone provide me with any dimensions/specs for the mast crutch for a '94 H26?

Has anyone made their own from materials available at Lowe's?

Thanks in advance.

dimentions

1 and 5/8ths exterrier diameter tube
87.5" from bottom to mast support
92.5" total hight

If I was redesigning one, I would think about making it expandable. Maybe an interior tube that slides inside and can be raised/extended after attaching the side stays, but is still the correct height for trailering etc. I have found the hardest part to raising the mast is the initial 3 to 4ft of lift. If you could raise it this much, thus changing the angle of the initial pull it would help dramatically. Don't forget the gin pole and the side cables stays that stop the mast from swaying side to side while raising. Hope this helps Chris

Re: dimentions

I am hesitant to tell you this only because as yet I haven't tried it on my H22. I bought an expandable paint pole (for rolling). The type that has positive stops every six inches and is six feet long when closed/twleve feet open.Using some 5/4 pine, I cut out two pieces about 3x6 inches. On the right I drilled a hole the size of the pole, slotted the hole to the outside of the wood piece and left enough wood to run a bolt through this to tighten up on the pole. On the left I drilled a 3/4 hole to fit over the 1/2 inch pins for the rudder. I have assembled this and it fits the boat just fine. I have bought an eight inch boat roller for the top but I am currently refinishing the teak and have her under a nine foot garage. When I have time I will try it and post pictures. Hopefully this gives you some ideas.
