I am planning to install a 6" inspection port in the cabin ceiling right behind the mast so I can run some wires and cables there and also access the mast light connector from below. I assume this won't weaken the ceiling or structure, does anyone see a problem here?

I’m surprised that there is no access into that area already. My H25 has a U shape panel that extends from each side of the companion way up to the mast post. Once unscrewed, one can reach wiring to dome lights and the mast. My ceiling is made of thin fibreglass and does not add to any structural support to the deck above.
