I have gone through the manual a couple of times and done my research on here but have a couple questions before I step the mast for the first time tomorrow.
1) on my mast raising pole I have two eyelets for the brides. Do I also connect the jib halyard and main sheet to the eyelets on the top of the mast raising pole or am I missing something .
2) the bottom of my mast has three holes drilled in it. Am I suppose to screw the bottom of the mast to the mast step or is it just held in place by gravity?

Thank you in advance for your help. Dan

1) correct. Jib halyard to top mast raising pole eyelet. One end of main sheet tackle to bottom mast raising pole eyelet, the other to the pad eye inside the anchor locker. Pay close attention and make sure the pole is angled upward under tension 2) the pin is the only thing holding the bottom of the mast to the mast plate. The rest is gravity (and the shrouds and stays) BrianW

Thanks Brian. I'm a little confused by the top and bottom eyelet reference. The eyelets on my pole are side by side at tge top of the pole. Thanks again

Dfisher. Brides go from slot in mast to base of forward stanchions -oriented athwart ships to prevent mast bending side to side or twisting. Gin pole is oriented with loops in line from bow to mast. This gives you a top loop for jib halyard to attach to and a lower loop for main sheet to attach to. Sounds like your gin pole is rotated 90 degrees.

Dfisher;

I think you have a boat I originally commissioned at Smith Mt. Lake. I will be calling to advise. Now retired dealer returning back to the area soon so I can help.

Smoke with Dfisher this morning. Brain W. deserves an Atta A Boy Award for talking him thru this. Thank you Brian.

I too gave some insight to mast raising. I will be living in the near area in two months and gave dfisher my contact information. I will be glad to go sailing with dfisher should he want my help how to sail that boat.
