H25 Ice box, Swim ladder

Hello all, I'm daydreaming about improvements to my H25 again (much to the horror of my checkbook!) and have two projects I'd like some group input on. First, I don't think the ice box has any insulation around it- It really doesn't keep ice for very long at all. Has anyone insulated the ice box on a 25? How did you get to the outer walls of the box? What did you use for insulation? Second, I'd like to add a swim ladder. There are two problems; First, I can't seem to find a good place to put it- The transom has a 9.9 outboard mounted to it, and not much room on either side to mount a ladder. Second, size of the ladder and where to store it are concerns. I'm considering a 'sport ladder' (West Marine #144167, or similar) as it only requires one mount attached to the transom, but I'm not sure about where to store it. I don't have an ice box in my 25, were is your's located?My ladder is on the port side just off the cock pit, no problem.

What year do you have, my 25 does not have an ice box, mine is a 1977. My swim ladder is monunted on the port side next to the cock pit. No problem.

Hi,I have a H25 1974, I too mounted the swim ladder on the side (starboard in my case). As far as the ice box. I pulled mine out entirely in favor of the coleman kind. Keeps the drinks much colder and is much easier maintenance

I'm also curious about where your ice box is located. I have a 1975 25', but no ice box. As for the ladder, I was at a boat show in Houston several weeks ago and talked to a guy who's developed a ladder that protrudes from the stern at an angle where the steps are only 10" or so wide. The ladder is attached by a bracket on the stern and swings up from the water & latches when underway. Perfect for the small space. I'll get the details if you are interested.
