Peter, If you are towing with a large truck such
as comes equiped with dual wheels on each side of the rear drive axle, or a pick-up truck with all wheel drive, depending on the size of truck, the towing hitch could be too high. I don't know if our breakdown about truck sizes converts to your Austrialian type of trucks but this should be close.Basically, the towing ball mounted on the truck needs to be at the same height as the pocket on the trailer where the ball fits into. If the ball is higher than the trailer pocket when trailer is level, then it will raise the front of the trailer so high that the rear of the trailer, and therefore the boat, will be too close to the ground to tow. Then you need to purchase a "drop-down" trailer stinger that slides into the truck mount and then drops down to mount the ball lower. Drops of 6" are fairly common. Also transfering the motor and fuel tank into the truck from the boat will help balance the trailer better.RayS/V SpeedyNow if you live in Melboure Florida then I'll feel real dumb trying to explain the conversion of "truck" into "lorry".
