H240 Rudder Repair

Talk about excitement. Just after a tack in fifteen knot winds the rudder snapped on my H240! The boat rounded up nicely and I was able to gain control by playing the sails once I realized the problem. Needles to say, it didn't take long to furl the jib and drop the main ...

Now the question. I understand that the H240 rudder is notorious for cracking and or breaking right below the head. Has anyone performed a repair on this part or am I resigned to purchase a new one?

E-mailed the OEM today regarding the rudder. It is not repairable and they will give me less than 20% off of a new one even though the rudder is only five years old. shipping is also tacked on .....

Anyone ever use a secondary market rudder such as Idasailor's Performance rudders?
