I have a new h240 and find the line jams at the end of the boom do not hold the lines, this is especially bad for the topping lift as it just lets go and down comes the boom. has any one else experienced the same thing, mine are not spring loaded and totally rely on the rope gripping in the teeth.

Hi... We had the same problem with our 2001 h260 and overcame it by tying overhand slip knots in the topping lift and reefing lines at the point we wanted the line to jam. The slip knot runs up to the jam cleat and then jams. Just make sure the release end of the slip knot is down, the bitter end, so you can release it under load in an emergency.
