H23 Tiller

I have yet to set sail on my "new to me" 87, H23. There are two holes drilled through the wooden handle of my tiller. Does anybody have an idea what these were used for? The handle has the tiller extention hardware installed that the extention just snaps into but I don't know about the other two holes...Thanks, Ray

Tiller tamer

If the two holes are in-line and go through from the top to the bottom of the tiller it may be for a tiller tamer. I had installed one on my '88 H23. You might get better responses if you post in the small boat forum instead of us littler guys in the daysailor forum. Good Luck!
