H23 swing keel

I have my no brainer under Virginia registration numbers now. Was I ever surprised when I had a look at the swing keel/cockpit drain two rope contraption mounted on the cockpit transom wall. Are there things I should know about the care and maintenance of swing keel hardware? How are the keel end of these ropes accessed?

I've been wondering the same thing myself. From the pictures I've found thusfar, it looks like a bent steel 'cartridge' slides into the rear of the keel and contains the pivot mechanism for the keel. I can only guess that the smaller, most rearward, bolts under the floorboard hold this cartridge in place but I would really like to know too.Jakehttp://www.teamseacats.com/hunter/
