Hi Folks, I'm getting ready to adjust the shroud tension on my 85' H23 and wanted to purchase a Loos gauge. Since I'm 3 hrs drive away from my boat, I have 3 related questions: 1) What is the size of the H23 standing rigging? (I think it's 5/32)? 2) Since there are 2 sizes of Loos gauges (they split: small; up to 5/32 and large; 6/32 (3/16 to 9/23)) What size Loos gauge should I get? 3) Can I get away with the standard Loos guage or should I go for the Pro, given that I don't do this often.(once, twice a year) I searched the archives and couldn't find a direct reference to the H23 rigging size or other related questions. Thanks so much for your help, Chuck/ S/V Windsongs

Adjusting Rigging

I adjusted my with I believe is the Loo's model 91 I bought at Wesy Marine for about $50.00 bucks. I have stuck you a link to my webpics which has under hunter instructions the Loo's manual for the gauge I bought. And it also has the wire sizes for the 23.5. Mine is a fractional rig with 5/32 wire. Hope this helps fafeagin1@home.com

The small Loos's guage is the right one and...

the standard model works just fine. The book that comes with the guage is worth the price. :) Greg Ex H23'er

Thanks Fred and Greg...

for the info, I feel confident getting the smaller gauge; sound like these Loos gauges are worth the money! /chuck s/v Windsongs

Could you use the larger gage?

I want to move up in a few years and I was wondering if I could use the bigger gage on the H23 so I wouldn't have to buy two..... What do y'all think? Thanks, Chris
