Gosh Cliff, you are so much help, I wished you did find one.The main reason many of us have a 23 is cause they are getting old enough that now I can afford to get one. I just got mine and have never sailed before so you can imagine how anxious I am to get it in the water.At this point about all I have been able to do is polish, clean, sand and oil woodwork and play with all the adjustments. I guess I am getting REAL familiar with the boat though.Thanks for yours and everyones help.... I "almost" feel I could take it out on my own and sail. (smile)

Jim,Check out www.usspars.com.Is that your mant? US Spars are the proported suppliers of replacement masts/booms for the 23. Do you know if yours is the orginal or a replacement?

Its original

Greg, I bought my h23 as new boat in Dec '86. The mast is the original, still working fine. There is decal on the front of the mast about 4 ft above the base, that reads "Francespar." There about a half-dozen other h23 s on the lake I normally sail on, and, so far as I know, none of the have this brand of mast. I assume "Francespar" is the manufactuer, but have not any need to research it. It is a fairly bendy, lightweight mast that I have put into some very scary looking shapes while learning how to tune it. Fortunatly , it is in excellent shape.Jim Kolstoe

Hunter 23 Rig-o-rama

Ok, Francespar, Z-Spar and Kenyon make it three. Anybuddy got a Spruce mast? Or other. Were these run concurrent (as in: Which mast would you like with your 23 sir? or were they year dependent? How about interchangability?
