Does anyone know what kind of wood was used for the interior trim on the wing-keel H23? I'm talking specifically about the rails on the edges of the shelves, the power distribution panel and the bulkhead between the main cabin and the V-berth. I don't think it's teak, in fact it looks more like mahogany. I'm planning some interior work and I'd like to match the existing wood if possible. Any ideas? Peter h23 "Raven"

It's going to be expensive!

I had the port and starboard berths replaced with a marine grade plywood. Total cost of labor and materials- $1000. The v berth bulkhead is now rotting. This is due to not having a hatch for I don't know how many years before I bought it. I can peel layers off the wood so I am sorry to tell you I don't know what type of wood it is. Please email me when you find out if no one answers your forum question. my address is liv2sail@angelfire.com Thanks Tony

If you can remove a piece.

Peter: If you could remove a piece of it, you can send it to H

Selected hardwoods

The brochure for my 1988 h23 says the interior trim is made from selected hardwoods. ie. it can be just about anything. Mine for example has Cherry on the shelf edges. A good lumber supply can identify a piece if you take it in to them. Ward

got pieces

I'm gonna have some pieces this winter after I cut out access holes for the "under berth" storage and I'm also gonna open up the top of the partition between the V berth and quarter berths just for better ventilation and to open up the interior. Also gonna trim down that darn piece that sticks up from the port side quarter berth and hits my knee when I crawl out of the V berth. If someone gives me an address I can send a sample to ID. By the way..........anyone see a reason why I shouldn't make these cut outs?
