I just put pictures of my bimini in the up position and my new radio in my profile. Someone was asking for pictures of it a short time back. Hope this helps. Charles

It was me. Thanks! I actually bought the sailboatowners.com bimini and it came last week. I won't be mounting it for another week or two yet, I want to make sure the snows all done before unwrapping. Wow, the boom barely clears in your pictures. Also your boom appears to slope downward toward the transom a lot more than mine. Is that where it usually rides under sail?

Radio install looks good. Were did you install your speakers. I purchased a radio last year but don't know where to put them. I don't want to cut them into the boat and find out I'm not happy with the location. I was planning on building a box approx 3' long and 1' sq. to put the radio and speakers in. Than put them across the bunks when I'm sailing. I only day sail so room is not an issue.

Mike, I have yet to do it but I am going to build a lower hatch board/ box to mount them in. I am also going to put hooks on it like my seat backs have. This way if out single handed I can use them in the hatch board location and If I have crew I can hang them from the sliding hatch and when down below I can sit them inside between my step and electrical panel. I don't want to cut holes in my boat. My front box speakers are mounted just above the shelves port and starboard on the forward bulk head. Goodluck with yours, Charles

Radio attachement

Charles, how did you attach the mounting for the radio case to the top of your cabin. I like the way you are installing everything and am thinking of doing the same. Mike

Mike, I just used 4 - 5/8" wood screws, two on each bracket into the cabin top plywood. I believe that plywood is 1/2" thick. I had 1/8" of mounting bracket plus the carpet so it seems to be a strong, safe and secure mount. Looking forward to seeing yours, Charles
