Well... not exactly luxure... but functional... I built a removable pannel to add some room to the v-berth I previouly constructed so I now have enough room to lie down in there. While sailing, I prefer to have the extra panel removed (and stored under the seet) so I have greater access to items in the cabin. See the link.

Looks Good

Hi Jeff, This looks like a good solution to having room when sailing and being able to take a nap when anchored. Lamar

What's really needed however:

I have my boat on a lift at my dock about 100 yards from my house and here in Georgia, we can sail all year 'round. I've been retired now for over 15 years and can say, without a doubt, what is really needed, at least for my 216, is more time available to sail it. I never believed that being retired would mean that you become busier and even more obligated than when you were back running your own business. Have a race this weekend and will be my first venture out on the boat since having a hip replaced early last year. Jeff, this looks like another one of your well done projects for the 216. Fair winds to all.

Hi Mr. Ernie

Mr. Ernie, It's good to hear from you and especially good news to hear you are back sailing after your hip replacement. And, as usual, you are correct in that even after retirement it is amazing where one's time goes and there is never adequate time for the important things like sailing. Good luck this weekend racing, Lamar
