My H19 does not seem to want to sit all the way forward on its trailer. With the bow completely touching the rubber bumper on the trailer, there is a gap between both bunks and the hull in the middle. When it sits a couple of inches aft, it seems to fit much better on the bunks but it doesn't seem as secure.

Also, anyone replace the winch on these trailers? Two different Fulton winches I have tried will not fit on the 4" plate on the trailer.

Send me you phone number and I will call you as I need a little more information to advise you. send it to davecondon@mindspring.com. FYI, I was the one who made the decision to cease production of that boat if it is the water ballast.

It would seem you may need to realign your bunks. Check the trailer balance; the recommended tongue weight should be attained with the trailer rails parallel to the ground. Remember a sailboat is floated on to its trailer and not winched. The winch is used just to help bring the boat in and not intended to slide the boat once it is on the bunks. Have seen to many "eye brackets" being pulled off the bow.

Benny;

FYI. Trailer was specifically built for this boat. Owner was advised how to ease the boat further onto the trailer by bumping or replacing the carpet witht he plastic runners. If anyone ever does that, the boat needs to be strapped down on the back end of the trailer.

Plastic Bunk Board Covers

I'd wondered about those for a while and put them on my trailer when I changed out the bunkboards a year or so ago. Last week was the first time I had the boat on the trailer and WOW boat slid right up to the stop with almost no effort.
The issue now is going to be keeping the boat on the trailer while going down the road. Looked at the ratcheting straps at West Marine they all seem terribly overpriced and too short. Anyone have a good solution for the tie down? At first I shied away from the stuff at Wal Mart but for as often as I use them corrosion is probably really not an issue and I can replace them as often as needed.
