H 42 Owner's Bunk

We are seriously considering buying a Hunter 42. All seems just right for us except the rudder post at the head of the aft cabin bunk. Has this intrusion bothered any h42 owners? Perhaps it's a non-issue, but we have no way of knowing. It sure is a beautiful and popular boat. We are not tall or large. Thank you for any input you might share.

you will have plenty of room with it there..there is a shallow well there that is formed by the mattress, we added another 2-3" of topper, so that is a good place for an extra pillow or some such. Ours rudder post was padded, and I tested it every now and then. I asked the admiral if it bothered her...she said what thing at the head of the bed..?

So that would be two, no bother at all..
