H-33 owners I need some info,will everyone with a Yanmar 2GM and the standard 14RH12 2 blade prop tell me what the maximum RPM that your engine will reach while underway. I can not get above 3000 RPM, prop is clean,exhaust elbow is clean and I had the entire exhaust system out to be sure there were no obstructions. The propeller calculation sofware says that the boat should have a 14RH9. So I am looking for data.

Max running is 3600 rpm. In neutral it goes to 3700. At 3600 WOT there is sometimes a hint of black smoke but not always. KATZL

Cooling system
Just the other day a fellow posted here about cleaning out his cooling system for the first time in five years. He used Prestone flush and all kinds of gook emerged. Upshot was that his rpm's went higher. Noodle back to "Four Days" and see if you can find it. Ironically the new 33 has a similar problem, said to be due to a kink in a hose.
