With roller furling jib, it seems silly not to run the main halyard to the cockpit too. Any opnions?

Thirty-two years later my halyard is still on the mast. I have owned the hardware for running it back for maybe ten years. And something more urgent always needs done. I guess it depends upon your kind of sailing and how safe you feel out of the cockpit. My main falls like a rock so it isn't like I have to go forward to help it. But with added resistance through a turning block, a deck organizer, and a clutch I might have to. Then what have I gained? Having said that I will still do it one day.
