H 25.5 sagging pop top

For all you H 25.5 sailors, have any of you noticed your pop top sagging down the centerline? I posted a pic of my problem showing the effect on the starboard side by the companionway entrance, however it's consistant on the whole top. I'm afraid to walk on the top as it crushes the corners (and "yes" I have a gasket all around the top as well). You can see there is damage were it hits the corner and the gap increases as you move out from the centerline. I have been placing an additional piece of rubber hose on top of the gasket to lift the edge from hitting but I'm looking for a permenant solution. Has any one fixed this problem on their boat? Any ideas? I checked the archives and NO solutions. Thanks, Bob

Sorry

Sorry to see that. I can't say that I've ever noticed this on mine, and walk on the top all the time. I never open up the pop-top. I'll keep an eye on mine in the future.

Hey UnderDog (or any 25.5 owner)

Do you have a gasket separating the pop top from the cabin roof? If so, is it attached to the bottom/underside of the pop top or on the edge of the cabin roof? Mine is on the cabin roof edge and it's about 3/4" dia. I was thinking maybe I could increase the size??? I don't know if mine is stock or not. Thanks, Bob

I'll look this weekend and take a pic or 2

Don't know, never use it, but I'll look this weekend and take a couple of pics.

How about this pic

Just recalled seeing Brian & Steph's boat with pop-top open, try the link below, or go to 'part 6' and look for the pneumatic-lift photo.

looks like mine

I looked at mine last night. Looks like what I have going on. Gets a little better the tighter I clamp the inside down. New gaskets can be bought from Hunter directly. Works well with a little rubber cement.
