Has anyone installed a battery in a 216? If so how did you locate and secure it? I talked to Hunter but they really could not help much. Thanks Joe M

Joe, I added a battery and small electrical panel to my 216. I installed a small panel (that I purchased at West Marine)at the rear of the cabin liner near the cabin roof on the starboard side. I built a small plywood box for the panel(about 5" X 6")and mounted it to the hull liner with small L brackets and screws. I ran the wiring behind the hull liner to a small battery box (also purchased at WM)which I mounted an a small piece of plywood which I secured to the fiberglassed foam of the hull(with plexus) next to the centerboard trunk also on the starboard side about in the middle of the CB trunk. It works great. I use it to power a Raymarine depth and knotmeter and a Raymarine electronic compass. I also installed a couple of small lights for the interior of the cabin. I might install running lights in the future. I think any variation of this set up would work. I hope this is of some help. Steve

H216 Battery - Sea Volt PWC AGM

Joe, I have a Seavolt PWC AGM 18 battery for my H216 from West Marine. I purchased the battery primarily to operate a bilge pump and run a small vaccum cleaner. The battery weighs about 7 lbs. and has dimensions of 4" x 6.75" x 7". I store it under the cock pit seats behind the mesh curtain on the port side of the boat but it could go just about anywhere.
