Gunk to stop that leak!

I have a rather old two stroke that doesnt run right if the gaskets don't seal correctly. I replaced the gaskets and applied Permaseal #2 on it a couple winters ago. When we launched this year, we motored for 4-5 hours without issue. Once we got on the lake we found a severe loss of power. Upon inspection I found a substance that I believe is Permaseal leaking. The engine was slathered with RTV when I got. I spent a significant amount of time cleaning that off the surfaces. I had a machine shop check a number of mating surfaces for flatness. Is there an alternative to Permaseal that isn't RTV?

It appears that replacing gaskets on a yearly basis might be a must for this engine. It ran pretty well last year. Permatex #2 usually makes replacing gaskets easier as they're less likely to be stuck to the mating surfaces. On the other hand, RTV might make yearly gasket swaps a thing of the past but that was by far the most time consuming part of getting this engine running properly... There's gotta be something out there that falls between glue and goop
