Well as it seems, with each front that passes through, there are more and more tar balls washing up on the barrier islands. Have seen the work force from BP on Daily basis and I can assure you that an effort is being made to clean up the islands by BP officials. Weather sometimes keeps them from coming out and working , but they are plugging away at it daily.

Have seen as many as 200 people walking horn island picking up and few as 75.

Don't know how long it will continue to wash up but i feel confident that BP is in it for the long haul.

" This is a not for profit message brought to you by just another boater. " LOL

Happy boating and safe holidays to all from Horn island., Ms. Sounds.

thankyou, chuck-- i had a feeling this would be-- i heard a report from some folks from a university who were down in a submersible and saw 1/2 in of goo on bottom of gulf around the old well site--they didnt see the end of that-- no permanent life forms down there, just the transient ones-- i was wondering how the topside was..
i miss that place, chuck..is too awesome to have to leave.....

Thanks for the update. Spent the night at Cat Is about 4 weeks ago. Same deal there. Did catch a nice 22" redfish, though! Haven't been since. Gonna do a day sail today...
